DEATH ON A FISHING VESSEL.
i Thb City Coroner (Mr. T. Gresham) held j eh inquest yesterday on the body of a ] single man named William John Porter, who died suddenly on board the sailing vessel Maroro.. A witness named Sanford I elated that ;he returned from the fishing j grounds on the sailing vessel on '" Monday 1 evening la company with Porter. Deceased retired to his bunt at about 7.30 p.m. beinsr then in his usual health and spirits. He had had a trifling cough. At 3.30 a.m. on Tuesday, witness' brother went.to. awaken Porter, : and' found him dead- ; • . Dr. King, -who made a post-mortem, stated that every organ was healthy; •with the exception of the left lung, which was very congested, this having been the cause of death. This congestion might have been present for a; few days, ; or, on the other hand, might have developed very suddenly. . .
