A fair amount of transactions took place on the sharemarket yesterday, chiefly in mining stock. In . investment lines Auckland Gas (new issue) sold at 20s and 20s 6d, sellers closing at 21s 6d, with further buyers at 20s 6d. Wiseman's (ord.) were done at 13s. In mining Hues Talismans sold s at 39s 3d, with sellers at last call offering lines at 38s od,. and buyers \at . 38s. PROPERTY SALES. There was a large attendance at Mr. W. Word Baker's auction rooms yesterday afternoon, when several freehold properties were submitted for sale. A 32ft by 57ft 31n section in Hobsonstreet, with a six-roomed house thereon, was, after some * spirited competition, sold foi £8/5. An allotment 33ft by 99ft, in Albert-street, reached £43 per foot, at which price it was passed in. ■ At their auction-rooms, Oustom-atreet, the firm of Messrs. ' T.
