Wellington, Wednesday. A technical blunder is likely to cause rejoicing in the Chinese quarter of the city where pak-a-poo was played at one time. Mr. Justice Cooper gave a decision to-day in the case of Joe Gee (appellant) v. Detective Williams (respondent). The motion was to quash a • conviction under the hand of a magistrate again®* Gee for selling tickets. Originally Gee was fined £100 and costs. Ho appealed to three judges sitting in banc-., and they dismissed the appeal, and ordered a conviction tc be drawn up by the magistrate. An appeal was then made to Mr. Justice Coopei on the grounds that certain '* particulars were not set out in the order. His Honor upheld the appeal, an - quashed the conviction. He expressed no opinion as to whether or not the magistrate had power to amend the order.
