MAIN TRUNK TIME-TABLE.
DISCISSION AT HAMILTON.
[BY telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT.]
Hamilton, Tuesday. In- reply to a question at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce last night, the president (Mr. J. W. El lie) said as yet nothing was known as to local services in connection -with the Main Trunk line. •: .-
Mr. Swarbrick, who was one of the deputation which went into the matter, stated that although they had been unable to see the Minister for Railways when in Wellington, they had learned that there would be little, if any, deviation from the time-table announced for the Main Trunk service, which would be practically a postal service. The Chamber, could, however, do good service in endeavouring to have suitable local services arranged in connection therewith, and they should approach the Railway Department in the matter.
The president said this question would be dealt with by the executive.
