The interprovincial representative programme will commence at Alexandra Park next Saturday with the South CanterburyAuckland, match. No particulars have yet been forwarded by the Southern union as to date of .arrival at Auckland, but it is presumed the team will arrive here on Friday. On the following week Marlborough play a shield match against Auckland at Alexandra. Park. Curtain-raisers will precede each of the matches.

There was some exception taken by a section of the crowd at a ruling given by Mr. Angus Campbell during the currency of the third test match. To all appearances one of New Zealand's tries in the second spell was scored by a man who was very much offside, and some of the crowd markedly showed their displeasure. Mr. Campbell, when asked for an explanation, stated that the ball had been touched by one of the British team, and as there was.no defending player within 10yds of the New Zealander his* playing of the ball was perfectly legal. It was one of those little incidents in which the public judge by a portion of the facts. With the British footballers gone from the Dominion, patrons of Rugby can settle down to the ordinary interprovincial representative matches. " The last of the Britishers to leave Auckland was 11. H. Vassall, who arrived at the wharf too late to proceed to Sydney by the s.s. Victoria. He left yesterday, Via the West Coast, for Wellington, en route to Sydney. M\. N. Galbraith, treasurer of the New Zealand Union, who accompanied the team during the journey • through the North Island, leaves for Wellington by the overland route this morning. Mr. G. H. Dixon, of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Union, leaves for Wellington on Friday., Mr. T. W. Leslie, of Wellington, who accompanied the British team throughout the whole of the tour as trainer, left for home via the West Coast on Sunday last. The Auckland - Rugby Union should reap a handsome profit from their enterprise in erecting "the auxiliary stands at Alexandra Park. The cost of the stands (£9OO odd) must be very, nearly assured now. The British-Auckland 'match was a boon to the Auckland Rugby Union, the stands being well-nigh filled to their utmost capacity. The union should have no reason to.regret their confidence in the value the public j place on the added convenience by the time the representative programme is finished.. WEDNESDAY HUGBY UNION".
