SISTERS OF FRIENDSHIP.
At the Fountain of Friendship Lodgeroom, Lorne-street, last evening, the official opening of the newly-constituted female lodge took place. There was a large gathering cf district officers and representatives "from various lodges in the Auckland district, amongst whom were District Grand Master F. Shaw, Deputy Grand Master H. A. A. Le Houx, Corresponding Secretary Jno. McLe ,od, P-P-C.M., ydon, Thomas McDonnell Westphal, P. Grands, A. Chappell, E. Healey Booker, T. Battersby, F. J. Fenton, McMullan, L. Goldwater, E. Martin, P. A. Stewart, Cleal, and Past Permanent Secretary Dean. The first election of officers resulted as follows:— Sister R. Shaw; .G., Sister Mary Dugg.':.; permanent secretary, Sister W. Murray; treasurer, Sister Pansy Strong; trustees, Sisters Thomas. Wood, and Stewart; auditor, Sister Battersby. The night of meeting has been fixed for each alternate Monday. At the conclusion of the business the District Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master, and district secretary briefly addressed the newly-made officers and members. Twenty further names for membership were handed in during the evening.
