THE DENTAL SCHOOL.
A SUCCESSFUL INSTITUTION. (BT TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL COKRESPONriENT.3 Wellington, Monday. The question of the New Zealand Dental School came before a meeting of the Otago members of Parliament to-day. Mr. Jas. Allen said the school, which has been established, in connection with the Otago University College, was a great success. . Indeed, it was a much greater success than the College Council ever anticipated. It was already doing an immense amount of good to the community, and would be of great advantage to the Dominion generally. The school had been started in a small way, and it was never anticipated that it would grow so fast. At present there were bo fewer than 250 p&tients attending at the Dental Hospital, and the number of honorary dental surgeons had been increased to 12. Borne of tbera came down every morning and assisted to deal with- this large number of patients. The school had grown to such an extent that a farther grant had; become necessary. The sum needed was £2000, and it was decided to ask the. Government for a grant to that amount.
