MEETINGS.

WOMEN'S MISSIONARY UNION. The sixth annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union was held at St. David's on Wednesday. In the absence of the moderator (the Rev. I. E. Bertram), the Rev. R. L., Walker occupied the chair. There was a large attendance. The annual report stated that the special work allotted by the Now Zealand executive was the Home and Maori mission work. The committee had decided to raise the salary (£100) for a missionary for the back blocks of Auckland.' Six business meetings had been held during the year, and were well attended, and there were four united branch meetings—at Devonport, St. David's, St. Peter's, and St. James'when various mission addresses were given. The outstanding meeting of the year was at St. James' Hall, when Dr. Kirk, who was on his way to Canton to fill the place of the late Dr. Ings, was farewelled. The sale of New Hebrides arrowroot had met with great success. The Maori Mission Birthday League still showed an increase. Last year £20 was collected, and this year £27 18s 6d. Five branches had not been very active during the year, owing to their not having a settled minister, or having a debt on the church property. The report was adopted, and Mrs: G. B. Monro was elected president, Mrs. O. Dixon vice-president, Mrs. S. Falls secretary, and Miss Rattray treasurer. During the proceedings sacred solos were contributed by -Mrs. Hamilton Hodges. •

ONEHUXGA LIBERAL FEDERATION.

The annual meeting of the Onehunga branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation was held at the Foresters' Hall last evening, Mr. E. G. Allsworth presiding. Mr. B. Gallichnn, general secretary of the executive and presidents council, was also present. The secretary, Mr. H. T. Horn,' submitted the annual report, stating that the roll total was 405. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. E. G. Allsworth (re-elecbed); vice-presi-dents. Messrs. T. Crisp (re-elected) and W. Colledge, sen.; lion, secretary. Mr. T. H. Horn; assistant-secretary, Mr. A. Mawkes; treasurer, Mr. John Rowe (Mayor); auditors, Messrs. J. J. Russell and A. Mawkt^

AUCKLAND EAST METHODIST CHURCH.

There was a large attendance at the quarterly meeting of the Auckland East Methodist, Church on Wednesday evening in the church, .Mount Eden. The roll of members showed a. slight decrease, owing t,-> removal!*'* and death. The balance-sheet for the quarter showed a deficit, on the period, but the credit balance on hand enabled the sum of £35 to be carried forward. After a lonp discussion matters concerning Grafton Road parsonage were deferred until next meeting. It was resolved that a week of special prayer be held throughout the circuit.
