The Union Company's steamer Talune is expected to arrive from Fiji this evening. The steamer has only a small cargo of fruit to land at Auckland, and as soon as it is put out she leaves for Wellington and Westport. THE TOMOANA. The Tyser liner Tomoana, which is due at Auckland from London and Australia on Wednesday next, proceeds South on discharge of her cargo of general merchandise. After discharging and loading in the South the steamer returns to Auckland to complete her loading, and is fixed to proceed on her Homeward ' voyage from this port about July 2-. ; THE BOVERIC. The steamer Boverlc, of the Australian Mail line, arrived at Sydney from. Auckland on Saturday. The steamer Toroa, recently purchased, by Messrs. Holyman and Sons, of Melbourne, to replace the lost steamer Orion in the trade between Melbourne and Tasmania, arrived at. the Victorian port from Wellington on Saturday last. THE MOANA. The Union Company's steamer Moana, Captain 11. A. Morrisby, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports at 10 a.m. yesterday and berthed at the' Queen-street Wharf. The steamer left Dunedin on Tuesday last and called at the usual ports on the coast, leaving Gisborne at 2 p.m. on Saturday and arriving as above, making a very smart trip from Gisbome. Light variable winds, moderate swell, and occasional rain squalls were experienced on the passage from Gisborne. The Moami leaves for Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day. ■ SALE OF THE GLENLORA AND HUDSON. " The iron barque Glenloru, 706 tons register, is reported sold at about £1100. This vessel was sold by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company in June, 1898, for £1800, and was re-sold two months later for £2200. The iron barque Hudson, 771 tons register, has changed hands at £1225. This vessel was sold in June, 1898, by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company for £2000. Both of these vessel* were orgina-ily frequent traders between London and Auckland. • VESSELS SPOKEN. Captain Warsoe, of the Norwegian steamer Elsa, reports having spoken two vessels on his voyage from Puget- Sound to Newcastle. On May 12, when in latitude 21.25 degrees south ana longitude 154.30 degrees east, he spoke the American barque Gerard C. Tobey, which left San Francisco on April 12 for Hilo (Japan). On the Bth inst., in latitude 30.13 degrees south and longitude 153.30 degrees east, the ship Lang-dale, bound from Taj Tal to Sydney, was spoken. Both vessels wished to be reported "All well." THE ORIENT COMPANY. The operations of the Orient Steam Navigation Company for the year 1907 have been so satisfactory "that the directors have been enabled to write off to reserve the full amount required for depreciation, to pay a dividend of 5 per cent, on both the deferred and preferred shares, absorbing £15,965, and to carry forward £16,840. These appropriations indicate a balance at credit of profit and loss of £32,805, as compared with £19.950 at the same date in 1906. On the latter occasion depreciation amounted to £50,832, and the balance carried forward was only £1985.THE BARQUE NORMA. Several weeks must yet elapse before an. effort will made to raise the sunken barque Norms' from the sea bottom at the Semaphore, Adelaide (says an exchange). Up to the present only 70G0 of the' 31,045 bags of- wheat which were in the holds have been raised by a diver, but work at the vessel. has only been of an intermittent character. Operations have been interfered with by bad weather. The cost of raising the vessel is to be charged to the Norma'a late owners.

TRANSHIPMENTS. The steamer Mokoia, which arrived from Sydney last night, brought transhipments per Anna, Wyandra, Barwon, Orontcs, Orient, Mooltan, Caoeyanna., Kyarra, Grantala, Gabo, 'Varan, Zieten, Gneisman, Heidelberg, Moorabool, and Prina Sigismund. THE MOKOIA. ■ . The Union Company's steamer Mokoia, Captain R. E. Smith, arrived from Sydney at 8 p.m. yesterday, and being granted pratique berthed at Quay-street Jetty No. 2. The steamer left Sydney at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 3 a.m. yesterday and made port as above. Light variable winds, with a strong head swell, prevailed during the passage. 'The Mokoia leaves for East Coast and Southern. ports to-morrow afternoon. THE WANAKA. The Union' Company's steamer Wanaka arrived from the Bluff, Oamaru, and Timaru yesterday afternoon with a. cargo of grain and produce, which she will discharge at the Hobson-atrcet Wharf.
