AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD.

The Harbour Board met in committee yeswhen there were present: Messrs. G. W. Basloy (acting-chairman). W. E. Hutchison, J. B. Macfarlano, A. J. En'trican, A. E. Glover, W. J. Napier, C. C. Daere, PI. Bradney, H. D. Heather, J. K. Kneen, and A. Keyes. A Landslip: With regard to it communication received from the Parnell Borough Council as to a landslip at Belwyn Terrace, it was resolved to forward a copy of the engineer's report referring to this matter, which stated that the onus must be on the Railway Department, whoso operations had been primarily responsible for the fall. The Board's contractors had in no way brought about (he slip. Boatways: J. T. Hendry's application to erect boatways at Remucra was granted. New Wharf Offices: Tho committee recommended the Board to adopt the engineer's estimate of £500 to erect new offices on Victoria Wharf. Paremoremo Wharf: A petition was placed before the committee to provide a new wharf at Paremoremo creek. Mr. Napier stated that the present road to tho wharf - was in the wrong place, compelling the public to go through private lands. Consideration was deferred. Quay-street Crossing: The City Council forwarded an account for repairs to crossing at No. 4 jetty, Quay-street. Members expressed the opinion that they understood that- when the Board paid over" £4000 to the Council to take over this road that was to relieve, them of further liability. The committee decided not, to pay the account, an amendment by Mr. Entriean that the amount; be paid finding little favour. Upset Rental: J. Todd was granted a, lease of land at Narrow Neck, at £5 per year, lessee to keep lite land clear of all noxious weeds and gorse. Electric Light and Power: The City Council Electrical Department wrote submitting certain quotations for electrical energy for light and power, which were referred to the engineer for a report. Ferro-Conerete Company's Account: Tho sub-committee appointed recommended that the Ferro-Concrete Company be paid £176 out, of tin account of £462 for the removal of certain plant from the Railway Wharf. The report was adopted.
