SHAM NAVAL BATTLE.
DAMAGE ON MAURETANIA. By Telegraph—Press Association Copyright. New York, June 18. A sham battle was proceeding today when the Cunarder liner Mauritania entered the Narrows of New York Harbour, the forts being engaged in repulsing a naval attack The liner was compelled to stop for 20 minutes while the firing proceeded, and the concussion from the huge guns mounted at the forts broke glass and crockery ware on the vessel to the value of £'4000.
