A conference of representatives of the Church . of England, Roman Catholics, Wesleyans, Methodists, Unitarians, and Jews, convened by the Bishop of Manchester (Dr. E. A. Knox), arrived, with a few Nonconformist dissentients, at a basis of agreement on the education question. Dr. Clifford, president of the Baptist World Alliance, condemns the settlement as unjust and unlikely to secure peace.
