BRITISH FOOTBALLERS' NARROW ESCAPE. [llV* TELEGRAM!. SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT. ] Nelson, Friday. During the overland journey from Greymouth to Nelson of the British footballers a sensational incident occurred at Longford, where two members of the team, in attempting to cross the Buller River in a small boat, were carried over the rapids, narrowly escaping drowning.
