Ernest Forrest (Auckland), ordered to pay £3 4s forthwith, or, in default, seven days' imprisonment, the order to be suspended for seven days; J. "Burns and Co. v. Charles Glover (Auckland), ordered to pay £5 15s forthwith, or, in default, seven days' imprisonment, the order to be suspended for seven days; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, v. Kenneth Bayne (Kawlua), ordered to pay £15 17s 3d forthwith, or, in default, 14 clays' imprisonment, the order to be suspended for ' .seven days; Laura, Stevenson v. Arthur Brown (Auckland), ordered to pay £2 17s forthwith, or, in default, seven days' imprisonment, the order {■> bo suspended so long us the debtor pays 2s per week. Mr. Kettle: It in a most extraordinary irasaciioji. Mrs. Vos did not give any directions for money to be paid over to anyone on her behalf, yet a portion is paid over. The defendant (recalled) repeated the evidence given by her on Thursday. Mr. Kettle said that he still thought there had been a gross fraud on Mrs. Brennan. It had been very cunningly worked, but it was discreditable, and a contemptible fraud on a poor sick woman. The defendant had taken advantage of plaintiff to make £50. The witness Scholium Mas recalled, and stated that he had no books dealing with his transactions with Mrs. Stewart. Mr. Kettle again expressed the. opinion that -Mrs. Brennan had good cause to claim damages. If the criminal law did not reach -•■• such cases, he thought it. should. He would suggest that Mrs. Yos be joined with plaintiff. I lie case, was then adjourned, pending a settlement. A FISH CLAIM. The hearing of the action in w\icli Joseph "Winters sued the Oceanic Limited (S. Green and Co.) for £13, being the value of fish sold and delivered to the defendants, was concluded. In giving his decision, Mr. Kettle said that, on the evidence it, did not. appear that there was acceptance of certain of the fish . which formed the subject, of the dispute. The claim with respect, to two of the parcels would be I disallowed, and as regards the other two ;■ parcels judgment would be given for plain- ;• tiff for £4 8s and costs. CLAIM FOR RENT.
