GROCERS. Grocers won the toss and decided to play with the sun at their backs. The Grocers, set up an attack, and had considerably 'he best of the play in this spell, which ended in their favour, by three points, an unconverted try, scored by Roscoe. The Rugby Union, which entered into a three years' lease of grounds at Miramar, has decided to go back to the Athletic Park as the scene of its principal matches; For some time past, the hockey and Wellington football associations have held a lease of the latter ground, which was secured to them l for this season. They have been bought out . for £60 by the.Rugby Union, and the union j is to receive 50 per cent, of the net gate receipts for the balance of the present season. Ii is expected that next week a committee of the union will bring; down proposals in respect of the purchase of the park by that body.
