ROADMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH.

Lsi'eniLvnos was received in town to-day that, a man named Thomas Holmes, aged about 50. working on a read contract three miles from Matawai store (50 miles from Gisbornei, was taken suddenly ill shortly-' before seven o'clock last night, and expired in a lew minutes. Constable Doyle, ot To Karaka, bus been despatched to make inquiries, and he will hold an inquest if .necessary.
