ENTERTAINMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S.

The last night of "The Earl and the Girl" attracted a large audience to His Majesty's last evening, and the bright musical comedy kept the house interested and amused from start to finish. Unless the departure of the steamboat that conveys Mr. Sheridan's company to Gisborne is delayed to allow of a, performance on Saturday night, tonight will be the last appearance of the company in Auckland. . This evening, as a. fitting close to a, most successful season, Mr, Sheridan will appear as the Widow O'Brien in "Fun on the Bristol." There are very few playgoers who have not seen the popular comedian in the part that is so closely associated with his name, but the '" widow," like good wine, improves with age, and all will be glad to renew the acquaintance. Mr. Sheridan first played th<> part in America a.s far back as 1879. Since then the Widow O'Brien has been staged in nearly every country in the world, and it is still as popular as when first produced. Mr. Sheridan will be supported by tins full strength of his company, and a big vaudeville programme will be introduced.

OPERA HOUSE. The splendid bioscope entertainment being provided by Messrs. Fuller and Sons, at° the Opera House, attracted a large audience last evening. The pictures are remarkably clear. The entertainment will be repeated this evening.

The third grand organ recital will be given in St. Andrew's Church this evening by Mr. Edward S. Craston, Mas. Bat., organist of St. David's Church, and formerly assistant organist at Liverpool Cathedral. The programme will include Mendelssohn's "Grand Organ Sonata, No. 2,'' and Lemman's famous "Storm."
