APPLICATIONS FOR DISCHARGES. A sitting of the Supreme Court in .Bankruptcy was held before Mr. Justice Edwards yesterday morning. Lewis Wilford, formerly of Taumarunui, applied for his discharge. J Mr. Pilkington appeared in support of' the application. The official assignee (Mr. E. Gerard) said that the .bankrupt had kept his books partly in, Hebrew and partly in English, and he had therefore had some difficulty in arriving at his position. The bankrupt had promised to pay off his debts at the rate of £10 a month, but the creditors, in order to give him an opportunity of carrying on his business as a second-hand dealer, were willing to take £5 a month. He had £15 with which to recommence business. His Honor adjourned the application till June 22, and stated that in the meantime the bankrupt must satisfy the official assignee that he had done something or that he was unable to do anything. Frederick Louis Forster, warehouseman, applied for his discharge. The official assignee said that the debtor was earning £5 3s a week, and that his wife had an income o)'-£l a. week. He did not know whether the bankrupt should not be required to pay something to 'his creditors. In answer to His Honor, the bankrupt said that he had six children. His Honor said that if an order were made it. would probably fall indirectly upon the debtor's wife, and as he could not see his way to make her pay the discharge would be granted. On the application of Mr. Pilkington, Walter Lonsdale Pritt. carpenter, was granted his discharge, Mr. Gerard offering no opposition.
