The medical officers at the Matteawan Asylum, where he is confined, state that the condition of llobert Caldwell, the American witness in the Druee perjury case (who gave a most circumstantial account of the supposed sham funeral arranged by the fifth Duke of Portland in 1864 in order to get rid of his identity as T. C. Druce), is much worse. The proceedings therefore in connection with his extradition to England have been postponed.
