NEW ZEALAND FISHERIES. i [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] I Dcxbdi.v, Thursday. A Djit'orrATiON from the Marine Fish. Hatcheries Board wailed on the Minister for Marine (the Hon. J. A. Millar) this ! morning. Mr. G. M. Thomson said that I they were asking for assistance both immediately and for the future. Their work had been confined to the importation of lobsters and crabs, and the Board had laid the foundation of what would be a valuable asset to the Dominion. They asked that in the next shipment of lobsters and crabs, Dr. Allen, of Plymouth, should include a small shipment of at least one kind of food fish, and the speaker suggested that in future the Government pay the cost of importation. The Minister stated that he intended to ask Parliament next session to vote £500 for introducing sea fish. The Government had agreed to pay £250 for five years, but that agreement expired next year. He thought it advisable to include a stock of food fish in the next stiipment, and he believed it would be a good thing if dock and herring were brought out. .
