PATEKANUI V. te awamutu. ' THE football season was opened at Te Awamutu on Saturday, when the local fifteen were defeated by Paterangi by eight points to nil. MATCH AT WAIUKU. The opening match, of the season of the Waiuku Rugby Union took place on the Do--main ground on Saturday, when the City and Waipipi teams met. The game was fast, and resulted in a win for the former team by 14 points to 3. For City, J. Bennett scored two tries, one of which be converted, and he kicked a goal from a mark. L. Molloy also secured a try. For "VVaipipi, J. Short obtained a try. Mr. M. Aldred acted as referee. Waipipi and Otaua will meet on Saturday next. PAEROA V. WAIHI. The football team to represent Paeroa against Waihi at Paeroa next Saturday is as follows:—Fullback, Adolpb; threequarters, Rickit, McDonald, and Evans; live-eighths. Royal; half, Brenan; wing-forwards, SilcocK and Bush; forwards, Thorburn, Bolton, Young. Berrvman. Barrett, Ryan, and Coe; emergencies, Smith and Tomlinson (backs), "Whit-more and Manning (forwards).
