' TJRAGEDY • ' ASHBURTON. 7 [liT TELEGRAPH.-—PRESS .ASSOCIATION.] ""j Ash burton', Thursday. • A young married woman named Mrs. -Heriot, wife, of a Papanui resident employed in his father's store, committed suicide last night .by. hanging herself to a. tree in the orchard of a relative named J. Evans, whom she was visiting, at Spreadeagle, 16 miles from Ashburton. Deceased retired to. bed as usual last night-, but later, her absence was discovered through the cries of her two young children. Several hours' search failed to reveal her whereabouts, but at daybreak the body was found suspended from a tree. No reason is assigned, for the deed. . '
The police are investigating the matter. ,
