Friday. , The temporary bar erected. at the scene of ; the big fire in the White Hart Hotel in [ High-street was closed last evening some ! time before the statutory hour owing to an accident. During the evening half a gale ■ had blown from the north-west, and the wind blew with great violence through the , ; skeleton walls of the hotel. A few minutes. before 8.30 a lingo beam, about 30ft long and 12in by 12in, crashed through ! the roof, having fallen apparently from the scaffolding or supports of the standing walls.
