Edison;regarding the Tatter's scheme for rapid housebuilding:-— , V " This winter I shall construct iron mouldy and devise machinery whereby a full-sized house can •be cast in 12 hours after the moulds are in position. At the end of seven days the iron moulds are removed and the house will be complete, and after drying six days will probably be ready for use. To -build this house for 1000 dollars it is essential that it be erected on sandy soil. The cost of the moulds will be 25,000 dollars and the cost of the other machinery about 15,000 dollars. .
