In connection with the cablo message that Elevation had displayed signs of lameness after doing a gallop yesterday morning at Randwiek no confirmation of the report has been received by Mr. W. E. Bidwill. Elevation has at times an i action which might deceive the course-watchers, and it may prove to be a case of a jarred joint or a muscle strain. In the absence of any advice from the trainer, Mr. W. 11. Turnbull (who represents Mr. W. E. Bidwill) its of opinion that nothing can be seriously amiss with tin colt. SYUSKY, April 15. The committee of the Australian Jockey Club have decided on a large increase of stake money. The. added money to the A.J.C. Derby is to be raised to 3000sovs, the Spring States to lOOOsovs, and the Metropolitan Handicap and Sydney Cap respectively to 2ooosovs. At a meeting ot members of the club a motion io increase the membership entrance fee to 20 guineas was carried.
