SEAFARERS IN TROUBLE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Tuesday. Two young men named George Kelly and William McGibbons were brought before Messrs Thos. Wells and J. Lundon, J.P. s, to-day, charged with stealing a rifle and other articles from various local residents. Accused pleaded guilty to the charges. Constable McNamara, who conducted the prosecution, said accused were seafaring men, and so far as he knew had no previous convictions. Accused stilted that they Had only been in the Dominion for three weeks. They left the steamer Surrey, on which Kelly was employed as a fireman and McGibbons as a greaser. Evidence was taken, and accused were committed for trial.
