WHITELEY'S MURDERER.
i ATTEMPT AT SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—l'lets Association.Copyright London, April 12. Cecil Ray nek, who murdered Mr. William Whiteley, has again attempted to commit suicide in prison. Baynor, who claimed to be a natural son of the late Mr. Whiteley, has now served about 12 months in prison. fie was originally sentenced to death for the murder of Mr.' Whiteley, but as the result of a strong agitation the sentence was commuted to imprisonment for life. On October 2.1 last he vainly endeavoured to commit suicide by opening an artery in one of his arms.
