A newspaper correspondent has found an injustice to Christehurch in the pages of "Pitman's Commercial Geography,' which publication considers that Christchurch is unworthy even of mention, for on page 148 we read : —" Towns in the South Island—Dunedin, the largest commercial town, has manufactures of woollen goods and machinery; population 52,000. Lyttelton and Greymouth are also of note." On page 147 Mount Egmont is said to be "one of the noblest volcanoes of the Pacific." "If other works on commerce are equally unfair to the Cinderella of New Zealand cities," says this writer, our new association might well devote part of its fighting energies to refuting such errors."
