(Received April 10, 8.35 p.m.) Lisbon, April 10, At a Cabinet meeting in Lisbon I a searching inquiry into the elec- | tion riots was ordered. The allegation is made that the ' municipal guard fired a volley at the : unarmed crowds, and that the guard ; wounded five soldiers, belonging to : a detachment marching past San \ Domingo Square, which was the j scene of the chief riot. It is stated that the guard there | fired 170 shots, aiming generally at j the ground. Seven hundred arrests have been made, including many of the proletariat, who were found in possession of large sums of money.
