A Queenslander, who is in San Francisco, ha;; written to the Brisbane Courier regarding the possibility of the Queensland Government granting to strandedAustralians in that city the .same privileges in the way of assisted passages "as are now being granted to European immi- ' grants." The matter was brought under the notice of Mr. Kidston, the Premier, who pointed out that if thes<i people were assisted back to Queensland, in six months they might clear off to West Australia. He, however, promised to have inquiries made.
