A JOCKEY'S DEATH.
.*> [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Waihate, Thursday. A sad accident occurred in the Harvest Handicap at the Waimatc races to-day. W. E. Pine, the rider of Nancy .Stair, fell from his mount, evidently striking the six- - furlong post with his head, which was ;- badly crushed. He was taken to the hos-l;-r . pital, but died on the way.
