ENCOUNTER WITH BURGLAR

FOUR SHOTS EXCHANGED. THE INTRUDER KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. London, March 17. A burglary with a tragic sequel occurred yesterday at the house of Mr. Montgomery Fleming, a wellknown resident of Glasgow. An ex-convict named McLeod gained admittance by night, and his movements aroused Mr. Fleming, who confronted the burglar. McLeod at once fired on his wouldbe captor and wounded him. Mr. Fleming then himself fired three times at McLeod, causing his death.
