ENTERTAINMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. TirKKsOwas another mystified audience At His Majesty's Theatre last evening, when Carter, the magician, presented one illusion after another with startling dexterity and complete success. All the items of his programme were undoubtedly good, some of the apparently simple tricks proving most clever mysteries. The production of a great bowl of water, containing enough to fill two buckets, apparently from the folds of a shawl, was one of the best illusions of the evening, while loud applause greeted the suspension of a lady in mid-air with apparently nothing to support her. Miss Abigail Price was as successful. as usual in her identification of various articles and her replies to questions submitted.' The programme will be presented again this evening. MacMAHON\S living pictures. Mr. Charles MacMahon has cabled from Australia to the effect that he has received from Europe and forwarded hero a fine series of the latest and most up-to-date Parisian living picture surprises, which the Messrs. MacMahon will present in Auckland for the first time at His Majesty's Theatre on Monday evening next, .when the management, will inaugurate their second tour of the Dominion. Since the last Auckland season some months ago the organisation has made a most successful tour of every town and city of importance in New Zealand. A special tariff for ladies and children is announced. The box plan will open to-morrow morning at "Wildman and Arey's. PICTURE " POPS." The Picture "Pops" will open on Saturday next at the Federal Hall, and will be continued until further notice. The latest pictures from London and Paris will be shown, and the MacCallums, a clever family of musicians, will provide instrumental and vocal items. A comedy sketch will also be staged.
