Mr. E. lulton wrote suggesting that ** the opening of tenders should not bo post-» polled. he Council decided to adhere to its * former decision to extend the time. Mr. 13. Ulster-street contract has been completed with the exception of a little worK. which cannot bo done until the intersection with Jersey-street is joined up. 1 r have, certified to the remaining 75 per cent, of the amount of this contract. The metal- • ling of Grey-street, Hamilton East-, is almost ' finished, 3623 yds of metal having been laid during the month, and metalling in Naylorstreet will coram next week.
