Mil B R- MABTIN, organising secretary of the" Political Reform League, has returned to Hamilton, after making an extended and successful tour. Questioned as to the recent ion he bad met with during tho initial Portion of his tour, Mr : Martin expressed himself agreeably astonished at the satisfactory attendance at bis meetings, especial* lv in the agricultural districts, whore the farmers wen?, in the middle of tho harvest. Ho was extremely gratified at the very cordial reception given to the platform by the members of the new branches he had been successful in starting. In Mr. Allan Bell, the league had selected a candidate of tirekss energy and great ability, a* W4* ; shown by the "splendid .service*"-.h©;^h*d : rendered on the various local bodies, and agricultural, .social, ! and other institutions, since his arrival in the district seven years ago. A, general desire was expressed that Mr. Bell should visit the various parts of tho electorate for the purpose of;becoming personally acquainted with the new ■ settlers ami tho "requirements of the-,, several districts'. ■•■.'■'';"■■.'. Martin suited that ha found that tho actions of . the Ministry in this direction were being regarded with increasing disfavour, the in- ■';. security of die land tenure strongly appealing to the country settlers and _ rousing ,them to the need for organisation and ■■■ action.
