AN OVERDUE BARQUE.

THE BORROWDALE SAFE.

Fob a considerable time past grave fears had been entertained for the safety of the wellknown barque Borrow dale, which sailed from Bunbury, West Australia, with a cargo of jarrah timber on August 6 for London. Months passed without the whereabouts of the vessel being reported, and the rates of reinsurance advanced at an alarming rate, until she was practically uninsurable. Just as all hope for the vessel was about to be abandoned she was_ sighted off the coast of England, and a cable message was on January 8 received by the Sydney Marine Underwriters and Salvage Association, Limited, notifying the safe arrival of the Borrow dale at Falmouth on January 6. The voyage occupied the extraordinarily long period of 155 days.
