THE DRAINAGE SCHEME.
MR. MIDGLEY TAYLOR'S REPORT.. TO BE AVAILABLE NEXT WEEK. . The Mayor stated at last night's meeting of the. City Council that the report of Mr. Midgley Tajlor 011 the drainage scheme would probably be completed on Monday or Tuesday next. It was proposed, he said, as soon as tho report was ready, to supply copies of it to each of the councillors, and also to members of the Harbour Board and the suburban local bodies interested in the scheme. It was further proposed to ask Mr. Midgley Taylor to meet the members of the Council at the man-o'-war steps on Friday next, for the purpose of proceeding by waiter to the proposed outfall, and discussing any points in connection with his report that, might require elucidation. Mr. Taylor, ho said, would bo jileased to answer any questions put to him on this occasion. The Mayor also intimated that he proposed to convene a conference of representatives of the various local bodies to consider tho question of the following Monday, when Mr. Midgley Taylor would also be present. The Mayor's suggestions were approved, and it was decided- to invite the members and engineer of the Harbour Board to join with the Council in tho meeting with Mr. Midgley Taylor on Friday next.
