[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION".] Oamarct, Thursday. Bain commenced to fall heavily at four p.m. to-day, and continued till eight o'clock, with prospects of a further fall. The root- crops and pastures will be benefited. The wheat crops, with good weather, will be considerably above the average, and the oat crops are good. Ashburton, Thursday. A welcome change in the weather began this afternoon, when showers began to fall, and by seven o'clock heavy rain bad tret in with every prospect, of "continuing overnight, at least. To all appearances the fall is general throughout the country and feed and pasture arid root crops will bo greatly benefited. Store sheep, it is expected, will advance in price immediately. ' . .
