London, January 15. Under the pretext that he was connected with a party of German noblemen who arc visiting Abyssinia to shoot lions. Mr. Arnold Hold, a representative of German manufacturers and banks, gained access to the Emperor Menelik, from whom he asked a concession to establish a bank at Adis Ababa, the capital, and also a spirit monopoly and the right to run motor cars from Adis Ababa to Jibutil, on the Red Sea coast.
