TAUPO FOR TOURISTS.
[BY telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.]
Palmerston North, Wednesday. •Mb. David Anderson*, general manager of the Orient-Pacific mail steamers for Australia, criticising the tourist arrangements to a representative of the Manawatn Times yesterday, strongly deprecated doubling back from Rotorua to Frankton Junction, as he had been advised to do by the Tourist Department, to reach the Wanganui line, instead of coming via Taupo and Taumarunui. He considered that the Tourist Department should undoubtedly develop the Tanpo route.
