CLOSER SETTLEMENT.

Christ-church, Tuesday.
'A start is to be made this week with the survey and subdivision of the Culverden " Estate, which the Government intend acquiring under the Lands for Settlement Act. The survey party leaves this city to-morrow, and Mr. G. H. McClure, district surveyor, -follows on' Thursday. It is anticipated that the survey will take six or seven weeks to complete. The Compensation Court, which will fix the price to be paid for the estate, meets on March 9.
