The roll had been quite full, both in boarders and day pupils. With but very few exceptions the pupils had worked faithfully at their studies, and their yearly examination attested to the fact that the work had not ■ been wholly lost upon them. The English studies had been prominent in claiming attention, ana had been most thoroughly pursued under able teachers. French was studied with avidity, bub - the enthusiasm for German might have been, >__ greater with advantage. Both language*- had! been taught by native professors. The technical and physical education had been consistently carried out throughout the year. The musical ; • studies had been regularly pursued under their » several able and persevering teachers. Some good passes at the Royal College practical examin- ""V ations (senior and junior) were secured. The ■art studies had been conducted for two-thirds of the year by Mr. Horace Moore-Jones.
