SALE OF COUNTRY LANDS.
There was a good attendance at an auction gale of country lands, which v. as held at the Chamber of Commerce Buildings yesterday afternoon, by the New Zealand Iyoan and Mercantile Agency Company. A large number of .small freehold farms and sections comprised in the estate of the late Mr. A. B. Abraham were submitted, Mi. H. 0. Nolan wielding the hammer. In section 15, known as Chishohn's Bush, near Papakura, lot 2, consisting of 5 acres 16 perches, sold at £27 10s an acre; lot 3, (10 acres 3 roods .02 perches) brought £21 10s an acre; lot 8 (11 acres 2 roods 30.1 perches) sold at £15 10s an acre ; and lot 9 (10 acres 2 roods 37 perches) was disposed of at £21 an acre. Lots 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 were passed in. Lot 1, in the Ardmore block, containing 117 acres was sold at £9 10a an acre, and lot 8, comprising 142 acres, brought £8 5s an acre, the re maining five lots in the same property being passed in. Of the 23 Drury sections, the following were sold: —No. 2, £21 No. 3, £57; No. 5, £16; No. 6, £8; Nos. 7 and 8, £4 each; No. 10, £17; No. 16, £8 ss; No. 19, £16; No. 23, £51. The Karaka property, consisting of 250 acres, sold at £3 an acre. The remaining properties offered in the estate were paeeed 'n as were also the properties offered on account of Mr. G. S. Hird, Mrs. H. C. Chamberlin, and Mr. Win. Kelly. The auctioneers state that after the sale numerous inquiries were received for the unsold properties, and that it is anticipated that the majority of them will be disposed of shortly.
