The death of an old and much esteemed Auckland resident," Mr. Nicholas Oliver Honeycomb?, took place at his' late residence, Charles-street, Rocky Nook, last °vcning. The deceased, who was in his tflst year, was a native of Liskeard, Cornwall/and left England in the sailing ship St. Leonards in June, 1873, arriving at Auckland about three months later. He had been a resident of this city continuously since that date. The late Mr. Honeycombe leaves a widow and a large family.

Japan, on October 19. when Miss May Blundell, only daughter of Mr. Louis Blundell, of Wellington (part proprietor of the Wellington Post), was married to Mr. Noel Wildman Nelson, eldest. son of Canon Nelson, of, Auckland, the Sfeuvice being conducted' by the Rev. J. W." Piatt, - ; vicar of All Saints' Church. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, and Mrs. Blundell, Miss Coates, and Mr. Blunflell jun., were also present. Mr. G. K. Totton, of Yokohama, was best man. A reception was afterwards held at the Oriental Hotel.
