AKARAXA RIFLE CLUB.

Tp; ' members of the Akarana Rifle Club fired the second match of the championships on their raugo at Penrose on Saturday aftercoon, there being a good attendance. There w«s a strong gusty wind blowing across tho range, making good scoring extremely difficult at 700 yds. Tho best scores of the daywere the 93 of Mr. A. C. Watson, tho 92 of .Mr. M. Atkinson, and the 89 of Mr. W. J. v.': Phillips'; while for the B Class aggregate trophy fired in conjunction with the championship Messrs. G. Griffiths and A. . Dan- ; rielleach made. 85.- ■>. The best individual .i range scores were the 34 each of Messrs. A. C, Watson and M. Atkinson at 500 yds, tho 52 each of Messrs. A. C. Watson and A. Danriell at 600 yds, and the 29 eaeh of Messrs. W. The ranges were 200 yds arid 500 yds, with 10 shot* at each range. The highest scores were as follows; Mr. M. : Armstrong (handicap 20), 43 at 200 yds, 29 ■at.SOOyds, total 92; Mr. Davies (scratch), 44.and 46—90; Mr. J. Bramble (8), 40 and 11—88.
