FINAL ARRANGEMENTS. ' " l A well-attended arid influential meetihl - - of ladies interested in the -forthcoming-, floral fete of the Auckland Ladies' -Bene volent Society was held in, the Municipal ' Chambers yesterday afternoon ! (Mrs. 0, M. Nelson, president, in the chair) to arrange the final details in connection with the, function. As already elated, this ■' great biennial carnival or flowers will take place at the Ellerslie racecourse on the 7th too*. Champion Baby: A special prize of folditij go-cart, presented by Messrs. Dick and Cow den, will be given to the finest baby in all ' points in the show. Hesketh and AltkMi'*. ; Eeedsnien, Queen-street. , ■ ' In this, ;as welt as. in all the sectional decorated vehicles, grand poster march, and so forth—the committee are urgently desirous that ■ intending exhibitors should enter as soon as possible, in order to faci- ' litate the compiling of the programme*. Extensive arrangements are being made in connection with the'- kiosks. Every suburb ; is, being represented, and a healthy - spirit of emulation prevails amongst the , ladies interested, as to which suburb shall show the most substantial return. Other items include a gymnastic display and hakas by St. Stephen's Maori boys, beautiful and novel floral marches, and eccentric "cakewalk" lancers by comical/ coons. The / procession of , decorated vehicles promises to be distinctly good, and, on the whole, given fine weather, the floral fete, of 1907 will, it is confidently expectel, transcend all its predecessors in general attractiveness. • ' ;'; ,; * — . ...I , ,i m;;*> i
