CfIttOMAN'DEL. Wednesday. AT the ordinary monthly meetiuj of the Commanded County Council, a letter was read from the trustees of Aitken's estate arid the agent for the Public Trustee, intimating that they would visit Coromandel shortly anil oonter with the Council in regard to the proposed road through tli* Pukcmakuku Block, to give access to the mines. It wan resolved that applications be made tor a Errant of £400 to construct the road. It war announced that the Minister for Mines bad authorised the expenditure of £10C in rehiring damage done by the recent storm: ' Mw.rs. Walker and Burses*, solicitor*, advised that they had looked into the matter i of compensation claimed for the road taken : through Moehau No. 3 0 Block. The road vas taken under the Public Works Art. and .tbey had written to the solicitors representing the uative owners, inquiring upon what the claim was bawd. With regard to the Waiwawa River ,'they had searched titles, and found the river was defined as the boundary. Certain rights had been granted to the timber :ompany, but appeared to have, lapsed. Pile motion, of which Councillor Jcune had given notice, in reference to the time having arrived for the institution of a different system of engineering failed to find a seconder.
