Speaking at Bendigo Bishop Revilie, the Roman Catholic Archbishop, reminded his hearers that if they wished to be respected, not only by their co-religionists, but by those outside the Church, they should be good Catholics. Sometimes Catholics, in order to be commended for broad-minded-ness and lack of bigotry, would boast of disobedience to a Church command. Men like that brought contempt on themselves. Catholics or Protestants should be true to their faith. There was room for all of them. Catholics should not despise others, for there were among the latter those who would have their share of the reward in the life to come. Sectarianism was largely caused by politicians.
