MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD
Tire ordinary meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board was held on' Tuesday night, those present being :■ Messrs. 0. Bagley (chairman), Clark,, Ambury, Hird, Hayr. Worrall, and 'Haslett. A letter was received, offering an area of 14£ acres for | purchase by the Board for a public reserve, price £5750.- The chairman expressed the hope that some benevolent person might purchase that land and present it to the district for a public reserve.' A letter was : received from-the Oriehunga Council, asking the Board to send a delegate to consider the.question of forming a Harbour Board to control the harbour. Mr. Hird said 'if the . Auckland Board had control, they would never know, anything, about the Manukau. The chairman "was appointed a; delegate 10 attend the conference. Messrs. Haslett, Ambury, and the chairman were appointed to go into the question of the; cost of a shelter-shed at Greenwood's Cor- j ner. ; . !
