A DELAYED PROSECUTION.
[BT TELEGRAM.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
Blenheim, Wednesday. Robert Burgess and Daniel Hannani were committed for trial to-day on a charge of assault and robbery on Thomas Branton. The alleged offence was committed in May, and the prosecutor has hitherto been afraid to give information, having been drunk while being a prohibited person. Prisoners had been suspected at the time, being connected with several disturbances, but, in the absence* of evidence, they had been charged with vagrancy, and sent to gaol for three months.
